Early Morning Wakeup

It is 4:30 in the morning and the Ugandan lady in the tent near me is singing Christian Choruses and praying out loud.  Why is she doing this?  I should be sleeping, but no, this is not possible because of the loud praying of the lady.  I am thinking that,  “This is not the best of ways to start ministering in the back areas of Uganda.  Day two, the same thing. Day three she is still rising early singing and praying.  Day four is no different than the others.  By mid day I am thinking that I sure could use more sleep and I am wondering why my ear plugs aren’t working well enough to block out her loud praying and singing.  I would complain more publically, but somehow I keep wondering if the great results we are seeing as we pray for people in the evenings are directly connected to the prayers of this lady and the prayers of others.  If spiritual results are connected to the amount of prayer, and I believe that they are, then this prayer warrior is accomplishing more than she knows.

I thank God for those who rise early and pray.  I thank God for those that are up late praying, or for those that pray during the day.  Without prayer little would be accomplished.  1 Thess 5:17 says, “Pray without ceasing.”

Lord, thank You for those who pray so faithfully.  Thank You that You answer prayer.  Help me to be more faithful in seeking You in prayer and worship.
