Discussion Starter:
There’s something hilarious about adults dancing badly, right? In this video it’s the unexpected joy of seeing otherwise boring people, newscasters, trying to be cool, that makes it completely hilarious. Newscasters aren’t supposed to dance. They aren’t supposed to have fun. They are just supposed to read the news.
Here’s what is cool. Having faith in Jesus is a little like that video. Just like newscasters aren’t supposed to break out into a crazy dance party, people who aren’t supposed to love Jesus can and do. And that freedom found in Christ allows those people to do unexpected things. This reality infuriated religious people in Jesus’ day. One day they were angry at Jesus for allowing children to interrupt his teaching. But he told them, “Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.”
