We are often just as good at manipulating facts. Sometimes we tell the others just enough of the truth so we aren’t technically lying while not telling the whole truth.
For example, we tell our parents we have completed our homework while not telling them that we don’t fully understand the assignment. Or we tell our friends that we are “fine” because that’s easier than the truth that we are physically fine but emotionally hurting.
- Would you rather be known as brutally honest or super polite?
- What is one side effect you’ve experienced because someone lied to you?
- Which person is easier to manipulate, a parent or a friend?
