LAST WEEK
Last week, our small groups continued their three-lesson series on evangelism. Our goal is to help our teenagers confidently and effectively tell their friends about their faith in Jesus and what it means to become a follower of Christ.
In this second lesson, we examined 1 Peter 3:13-17. As Christians, we need to be ready to talk about our faith-but we need to share with the right attitude. Being obnoxious or belligerent about sharing our faith won’t accomplish what God desires. Instead, we need to do it “in a gentle and respectful way,” Peter says, and our lifestyles ought to back up our words.
I’d encourage you to spend some time this week talking with your teenager about our lesson. Here are some questions you could include in that conversation:
- Why is it important to spend time preparing to share your faith?
- You probably have a friendship right now with at least one person who doesn’t know God personally. Have you shared the good news of Jesus with that friend? If so, how did that person respond? If not, what’s holding you back?
