But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” (John 5:17) Many people live with the notion that, though God exists and created the world, God does not need to be particularly involved in our lives except when there is a problem. There is the thought that this great entity, God, Who created the universe and solar system, wound them up like a watchmaker winding a watch and then stepped back to let them run on their own. They feel that God is just watching from the distance. This is not the case. God is actively working in and around our lives and He is desiring to work more within us, if we would let Him. It is true that many times we do not clearly see what God is doing, and many times we may not appreciate what we think He is doing. Yet He is constantly working according to His nature of working all things for good to those that Love God.
Ask God to help you to see where He is working and then take a moment to reflect on where God is working in your life. Invite Him to work through you in the situations around you.
