Having had a great set of meetings it would be easy to say that, “God showed up!”, and perhaps from the perspective of an outsider it might seem like God did show up.  However from the perspective of a born again, Spirit filled believer, shouldn’t we be conscious of the fact the God is always  with us?  The very name of our Lord, as being Immanuel, “God with us” (Matt 1:23) should cause us to confidently walk in the assurance that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Heb. 13:5).
We often feel that we need to be waiting for God to come and stir the water before we can anticipate anything happening.  However, should we be constantly begging and pleading that God would come down from heaven and that He would do something on our behalf, or should we be thanking and praising our Lord that through the work of Jesus, by His Spirit, He has already come?  After the day of Pentecost, the New Testament believers were very aware that the Spirit of God was upon them and with them.  As a consequence, they went out and ministered in a confident assurance that God was there.
Let’s also confidently live, knowing that God is with us, for He says that He is.
