It is not easy being a shepherd of God’s people.  One could easily think that leading God’s people would be one of the best jobs in the world.  However that is not always the case.  One African pastor told me, “I have the concerns for myself, my family and then on top of that I have to take care of the congregation.  Our area is very poor, we live in thatched grass huts.  Life is tough for our family and then I have to help with the congregation and their concerns.  Sometimes I feel like it is too much, then I think of God’s great love for me, and I want to share that love with others.  So I go on.”
The Apostle Paul says that God’s love compelled him to share and minister to others (2 Cor 5:14).  Is God’s love for you so real that you too cannot help but share with others about the love of Jesus?
Take a moment to ask God to reveal His love to you in fresh and real ways.  May that love then motivate you to minister to others.
