How much do you affect the people around you?  What positive influence do you have on the lives of your progeny?  Maybe you affect people more than what you imagine.  King David was not a perfect king, he did many things wrong, but he did have a desire to walk in the ways of the Lord God.  Unfortunately not all his descendants walked as completely with The Lord as David did.  In spite of this, the scripture says, concerning Abijam, “Nevertheless for David’s sake the Lord his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, by setting up his son after him and by establishing Jerusalem; (I Kings 15:4 NKJV).”  This scripture is talking about King Abijam’s son, David’s great, great grandchild.

David’s godly life had a positive influence on his descendants.   Perhaps your faithful walking with the Lord has more affect than what you may think.

Lord help us to faithfully walk with You.  May our lives influence many around us.
