Terrorist Affect Attendance

On September 23, 2013 two suicide bombers exploded themselves outside a Christian Church in Peshawar, Pakistan.  The press stated that 85 Christians were killed but the local pastor said the number was actually 140.  Christian’s are a minority in that area and are easily taken advantage of, or their situation is ignored by local magistrates or police.  In many parts of the world, Christians are under persecution or are subject to possible attacks or imprisonment because of their faith.
How would you react in such a situation?  What would such an attack to your family or friends, your life, your residence, or your place of worship, have on you?  Would it cause you to pull back in your faith?  Would you be less willing to openly show yourself as a Christian?
How did the Christians in Peshawar respond?  On Sunday September 30, one week after the death of over 140 of their people, instead of the normal 500 believers gathering for worship, the church attendance doubled to over 1000.  Instead of pulling away the believers gathered more confidently.  The enemy would want us pull back in fear, but resting in God’s perfect love for us, gives victory over fear. “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment.  (I John 4:18)
Lord, help us to continue to walk boldly in all situations, with Your perfect love casting away the fear.
