There are times when God seems to supernaturally bring about opportunities for us to share our faith, and then there are times when sharing our faith with others is not always easy. We know that we should share our faith, we want to be able to share our faith, yet knowing our personal weakness and our lack of ability can cause all manner of fears and trembling within us. This fear can paralyze us from doing what we know we should do. When the Apostle Paul came to the city of Corinth, he felt that he was weak, fearful and trembling. 1 Corinthians 2:3-5 “I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” Paul did not say that God took the fear away, or that his weakness was removed, and then Paul could minister with boldness and confidence. Instead Paul looked upon what was happening in the background. He realized that his weakness and inability were indications that God would have to come in His power. The people whom Paul ministered to were not to be building their lives upon the strength, wisdom or ability that Paul, had but instead their faith was to be based upon the fact that God, by his Spirit, was working in their hearts and lives. Later in 2 Corinthians 12:9,10 Paul boldly declares how he has seen how, in his own personal weakness, then God was the strongest. Don’t wait or hold back from sharing what God is doing in your life, thinking that God will cause us to have no weakness, fear or trembling, and then I will share. Instead realize that in our times of weakness, fear and trembling, God will work all the more so that people are touched by the working of the Spirit of God within their hearts. PastorKeithsBlog
