I Could Not Hold Back

Jer 20:9 When was the last time that Gods word and his purposes were so strongly within you that you could not hold back from speaking?  Was there ever such a time?  Jeremiah determined that he would stop talking about the Lord and the ways of the Lord, “I will not make mention of Him nor speak anymore of His Name”. Yet the words of God could not easily be quenched or dismissed, “But His word was in my heart like a burning fire, shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it  back, And I could not.” (Jeremiah 20:9 NKJV)

For many of us there is little of this fire and passion of God stirring within us, though there should be. We rarely are so stirred by God that we can’t contain what He has made real to us.  Oh, that we would be open to and desire to let God stir afresh within us.

If God were to desire to minister in fresh ways through you, then what would you need to do to prepare yourself for that and to enable that to take place?  What barriers in your life would need to be removed to permit the fresh words of God to stir within you?
