Love Winnipeg 2020

Bronx Park – Love Winnipeg @ home!

For the month of June, we want to show God’s love to our neighbours through Love Winnipeg! While we can’t do big carnivals or have a free BBQ this year, there are still ways we can encourage, support, and show God’s love to our very own neighbours!

Event Ideas

  • Offer to do lawn care: rake, mow, plant flowers, trim trees, etc.
  • Bake cookies for your neighbours
  • Leave a note to check-in on your single or elderly neighbours. Leave your contact info if they are in need of anything.
  • Advertise and run a free carwash for your neighbours (a fun way to involve kids!)
  • Write a note or encouraging letter to your neighbours and let them know how you’re praying for them. Can also include a small gift like a bar of soap.
  • Leave a game or toy to a family with kids. Older teens and adults might like Sudoku, crosswords, puzzles, etc.
  • Offer free masks, gloves, or other essentials your neighbours may need (or you may have extra of).
  • Do a prayer walk through your neighbourhood
  • Create and handout a package of essentials for homeless persons
  • Stop by a local business and bring them a little box of tidbits or cookies, just to say thank you and let them know that we have been praying for them.
  • Find neighborhood book exchange boxes and place Christian media in each of the boxes
  • Bring a pre-packaged cake or a fruit basket to frontline workers

Make sure to download & print the Love Winnipeg card below for your event! We want to make sure God is glorified through us!

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES DURING COVID-19

  • We ask that you please respect all Manitoba COVID-19 guidelines: socially distance, wear masks and gloves. To be the best possible witness for Christ, we want to ensure that we do not compromise our message of hope to others by neglecting provincial guidelines. We would rather go above and beyond what is required to effectively minister to everyone.
  • Please limit personal contact with others as best as possible. This may mean sending a note to your neighbours prior to your event.

Love Winnipeg is dozens of churches working together to show the love of God in our city. We love Winnipeg and the people in it and desire to do our part through random acts of kindness. Reaching out with the love of God, to bless our communities and to make it the greatest city in the world in which to live.
