COVID-19 Response

On September 25, 2020, the Government of Manitoba raised the response level to orange for the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region.  This means that—starting Monday, September 28, 2020—churches may continue to meet with physical distancing but wearing masks will be mandatory in all indoor public places.

Even though we will now all be required to wear a mask while attending church in person (i.e. starting Oct 3-4 weekend), we will still be able to enjoy worshiping together.

We have reopened our Winnipeg South Campus for in-person church services. We will be respecting the Province of Manitoba’s guidelines for Phase 4 of Manitoba’s reopening, so please read further to be apprised of how we will be proceeding.

What we are doing to maintain safety

  • Hand sanitizer is available at all of the entrances.
  • All attendees and volunteers are to maintain appropriate distances (2 metres between family groups) while entering, exiting and participating in church activities.
  • Our fantastic volunteers (greeters, ushers, Kidz Rock, etc.) will be wearing masks.
  • Our incredible custodial team are continuing to vigilantly sanitize surfaces.
  • We are refraining from handshakes, hugging, fist-bumps, etc., and there will be no bulletins handed out. (please check out What’s Happening online)

Kidz Rock

Have you already registered your child for Kidz Rock this weekend?

Classroom spaces are currently limited for physical distancing, so children who are pre-registered will have spots reserved for them and remaining spots will be given on a first-come, first-served basis after that.

*We will be asking to see your registration tickets at Kidz Rock check-in each week.

REGISTER FOR KIDZ ROCK

  • If registering your child online is not feasible, please call the church office to register for them that way.
  • We have Preschool, Elementary and Grades 5/6 classrooms open.
  • The Nursery will be self-serve (which does not require registration), however, the Nursing Mothers room will not be open at this time.

Seating

Our Sanctuary and children’s areas have been divided into “subgroup” seating areas of no more than 50 individuals. This is to facilitate entering and exiting without intermingling between subgroups.

  • Upon entering the church building, you will be directed to the next available seating area closest to the entrance you chose.
  • Rows have been spaced 2 metres apart, and it is expected that family groups will leave 2 metres gap on either side to allow other families and individuals to sit in the same row.
  • Subgroups will be dismissed to exit at staggered times to avoid intermingling.

Giving

We hope you have been enjoying the convenience of giving online or sending tithes through eTransfer, so please continue to use these options.

  • In the service we will not be passing an offering basket, so if you need to use a debit machine or the envelope drop slot, we ask that you first wait until your seating section has been dismissed and then head to Guest Services to give in person after the service.

We still have services at churchoftherock.live too!

We encourage you to continue to attend Church Online if you or a family member doesn’t feel well, or if you’re just not ready to attend church at a physical location. You’re part of the Church of the Rock family no matter where you choose to attend!

Please stay home and participate in Church Online and Kidz Rock Online if you or your child:

  • has had a fever in the past 14 days,
  • shows any symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, runny nose, cough, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, shortness of breath), or
  • has been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

We have reopened our Winnipeg West Campus for in-person church services. We will be respecting the Province of Manitoba’s guidelines for Phase 4 of Manitoba’s reopening, so please read further to be apprised of how we will be proceeding.

    • All volunteers are wearing masks when social distancing can’t be maintained, (i.e. helping a child with their craft or activity). Wearing gloves when necessary. Using hand sanitizer in the classroom.
    • All kids get hand sanitizer when entering the classrooms.
    • Children are all seated in hula hoops to maintain social distancing.
    • All activities/crafts, snacks, etc., are all pre-packaged, nothing is shared between the children.
