There are some situations that as much as you try, it never seems like they will change.  Take a moment to thing about some things around you that never seem to change.
I realize that even the thought of some things not changing can be very frustrating and discouraging.  From an outsider’s perspective, people might think that you have not tried enough, and in all reality, it likely is true that you could have tried harder.  However, the Bible says that there is one thing that trying hard will never accomplish.  Even though we know what we should be doing, and we know what not to do, we can still not accomplish it.
Romans 8 verse 3 talks about the struggle to overcome our sin nature and the challenge to overcome the consequences of sin, “The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.” (NLT)  God knew that we would never be strong enough to get our lives together, He knew that we would constantly fall into sin, no matter how hard we try; so He sent us help.  God, Himself, came to earth as Jesus, to do what we could not do.   We cannot live a perfect life, but Jesus did.   We cannot please God, but Jesus pleased God.   We are imperfect, but Jesus is perfect.  We try and fail, but Jesus completed everything.
Take a moment to express gratitude for the forgiveness and help that Jesus has given to you.
