On Monday, June 30th, we were able to celebrate the life and departure of my father, Harry Eberhard.  Having lived 86 years, he had a mature walk with our Lord Jesus.  As family and friends we were able to reminisce over the things that Dad had done, his words and this values. It was a positive time of remembering the spiritual and natural legacy that he had deposited into our lives.  Many shared how Harry had impacted their lives through the stable, consistent love for God that he exemplified and through his willingness to help and serve. Thank you for your prayers, support and encouraging words during this time of loss.  My mom and family are doing well, we are sensing God’s presence.
The death of those close to us always causes us to reflect upon the reasons for life, and on the prospect of eternity.  We can often get caught up with the many things that are around us and fail to realize that these things have little eternal value.
With new resolve we press ahead that we too might hear our Lord saying, “Well done good and faithful servant you have been faithful over a few things, enter into the joy of the Lord” (Matt 25:21)  We are reminded of the expression by missionary C.T. Studd, “Only one life will soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.”  May we live our lives now, in a way that will last for eternity.
