JANUARY 2024
WEEK THREE

Preschool

Jesus teaches me important things.

Bible Story

Bigger Barns
Acts 2:45; Luke 12:16-23

Jesus tells a story about a man who built bigger barns for all his food to teach us that it is better to share.

MEMORY VERSE

“The people were amazed at his teaching.”

Matthew 7:28, NCV

Engagement Questions

  • Who teaches you important things?
  • Since Jesus teaches us we can share, what are some things we can share?

Prayer

“Dear God, thank You for sending Jesus to teach us important things. We want to do the things Jesus teaches us to do, like share. Please help us share with others. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen."

ENGAGE IN EVERYDAY MOMENTS TOGETHER

Morning Time

When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say: "Good morning, [child's name]! I have a yummy breakfast for us! While we eat, we can think of ways we can share today because Jesus teaches us it's important to share what we have."

Drive Time

While on the go, look for a barn or storage building. Take guesses as to what might be in the barn/building. Talk about the story Jesus told about the man who built bigger barns to store all of his food instead of sharing it with others. Now name one thing you can share today.

Cuddle Time

Cuddle with your child and pray: "God, You are so generous. Thank You for the toys, food, and clothes that we have. Help [child's name] and me share what we have when we get the chance. We want to share because Jesus teaches us it's important to share."

Bath Time

Add two plastic cups and a spoon to bath time. Fill one cup with water. Say, "The cup with lots of water wants to share with the empty cup. Can you him the cup share by scooping water with this spoon?" As they scoop water, say, "You're doing a great job sharing! Jesus teaches us that it's important to share."
